EmployerCheck
Why Accreditation
Under Immigration New Zealand's new Employer Assisted Work Visa Policy, all employers wanting to employ a foreign worker will be required to be accredited.
Employers will need to be accredited before they can move to the next part of any application process.
There will be two types of accreditation, depending on how many foreign workers an employer employs in a 12 month period. Labour hire companies will have specific accreditation requirements.

Immigration New Zealand is simplifying the work visa streams buy replacing 5 different work visa categories with one called the Temporary Work Visa.
To make the process of hiring a foreign worker easier and more straight forward for employers the government is introducing a new employer led visa application process.

Employer Check - Where employers will be accredited to enable them to hire a migrant;
Job Check - Where the job is checked to ensure hat no New Zelander is able to fill the job being recruited for, subject to skill, sectoral and regional differentiation; and
Worker Check - Where check will be made to ensure he foreign worker is of good character and health to work in New Zealand.

Every employer in New Zealand wanting to hire migrants will need to meet one of the following three accreditation requirements as the first part to any temporary work visa application and without accreditation, there will be no work visas issued for that employer.

EmployerCheck is all about helping you to meet your obligations as an employer, and facilitate your business into gaining accreditation enabling you to employ a foreign worker when there is a need.
